On April 20th-21st, 2026, Prague will be hosting Czechia Travel Trade Day (TTD) 2026. What is the significance of this? Well, it is the largest inbound tourism event in the country. This two-day gathering solidifies Prague’s role as a central hub for global tourism by bringing together international buyers, tour operators, journalists, and Czech tourism entrepreneurs.

This event is organized annually by CzechTourism in collaboration with Prague City Tourism and the regional tourism bodies. One of the major roles of this event is that it serves as a very strategic platform to promote Czechia as a truly diverse and competitive destination, along with fostering international business partnerships.

At Cover Page Media, we bring the latest happenings from the world of travel. Let’s dive deep into this headline.

What Are The Key Objectives and Business Focus Of Czechia Travel Trade Day?

The core of TTD 2026 revolves around pre-arranged B2B meetings. These meetings are between over 200 foreign buyers from more than 20 countries! These include the local Czech suppliers, that are the hotels, DMCs, regional tourism boards, and cultural institutions. All these structured interactions aim to create tangible business outcomes. In simple terms, more business relationships such as new travel packages and expanded market reach. The event is particularly crucial for driving inbound tourism growth and helping local Czech businesses secure contracts ahead of the 2027 travel season.

“Prague is the perfect location, it’s easily accessible, serves as a natural gateway to Czechia, and offers a wide variety of tourist experiences.” František Reismüller, Director of CzechTourism, emphasized. The event also includes meetings with directors from CzechTourism’s international offices and as well as all the product managers presenting innovative tourism offerings.

Regional Showcasing and Familiarisation Trips

Decentralizing tourism is a major focus of TTD 2026, beyond Prague. This means International guests are participating in familiarisation trips to regions like Central Bohemia, Liberec, Olomouc, Pardubice, Plzeň, and Vysočina. Why do these trips matter- these trips highlight historical landmarks, traditional crafts, and emerging niches. For examples, like wine tourism in South Moravia or the high-end spa experiences in Karlovy Vary.

The Director of Product Management at CzechTourism, Tereza Hofmanová, stated the goal is to shift at least 15% of foreign overnight stays outside Prague by 2028. And for this purpose, new formats like the “product lab” allow regional managers to test themed itineraries that target segments such as slow travel and the winter city breaks

Event Program and Networking Opportunities At Czechia Travel Trade Day

There are wonderful opportunities as the 2026 program is designed for maximum practical impact. Here is a day-wise breakdown of all the activities- Day one will feature a panel discussion on current tourism trends, this includes topics like sustainability and digital transformation. And Day two focuses on the other important part of the event- the destination presentations and experience-sharing sessions that aim strengthen sector-wide cooperation.

Followed by a gala evening at the Slavonic House (Slovanský dům) that provides informal networking. This reinforces the value of face-to-face connections in building long-term partnerships, which is extremely crucial. The event follows ITB Berlin, allowing international buyers to seamlessly and smoothly add Czechia to their European itineraries.

Strategic Initiatives and Future Outlook

TTD 2026 aligns with Czechia’s new global campaign “Feel free”, which shifts marketing from sights to emotional experience.  This means the visitors gain, authenticity, freedom, and connection. And to add to that, the country is also promoting sustainable travel solutions, with a dedicated session on low-carbon itineraries combining rail, cycling, and regional gastronomy. Sustainability is in right now in the travel world and this introduction is a big win.

Also, a bonus is that, with inbound tourism recovering to 96% of 2019 levels in 2025, this event is key to closing the gap in business-event arrivals, which still remain at 82%. The upcoming VAT incentives for conventions and a fully digital long-stay visa platform that was launched January 2026 will further enhance Czechia’s appeal for MICE tourism.
