The Group has signed over 15 new hotels and approximately 2,500 rooms in the past 12 months, reinforcing its momentum. Key new market entries include the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Zimbabwe, while priority growth countries remain Morocco, South Africa, and Nigeria

Strategic Growth and Market Priorities

Radisson Hotel Group is deepening its footprint in high-potential markets. In Nigeria, the Group has 13 hotels in operation and pipeline, with a strong focus on Abuja, which hosts three upcoming hotels totaling 458 rooms. In South Africa, growth is centered on Cape Town, secondary cities like Durban and Pretoria, and leisure corridors including Kruger National Park, Sun City, and the Garden Route.

The company is also evaluating opportunities in Zanzibar, Namibia, Botswana, and Zambia, particularly for lodge, safari, and nature-led resort experiences, aligning with rising traveler demand for eco-tourism.

Expansion in Democratic Republic of the Congo

The DRC is a key growth market, with four new properties in development:

  • Radisson Blu Hotel, Kinshasa – Opening late 2026, a 110-room upper-upscale flagship in Gombe.

  • Radisson Hotel Lubumbashi – Opening mid-2027, featuring 97 rooms and city views.

  • Radisson Blu Apartments Lubumbashi – Targeted for 2030, a 160-room upscale apartment property.

  • Radisson Airport Hotel Lubumbashi – Opening in 2028, a 105-room airport hotel just 6 km from Luano International Airport.

These developments highlight Radisson’s multi-brand approach and focus on both urban and airport convenience.

New Projects in Egypt and Morocco

In Egypt, two major projects are underway:

  • Radisson Resort Ain Sokhna Groove – Planned for 2029, a 469-room Red Sea resort with private beach access and event facilities.

  • Radisson Serviced Apartments COY Sheikh Zayed City – Expected in 2030, offering 120 serviced units near Cairo.

In Morocco, recent signings include:

  • Radisson Blu Hotel & Conference Center, Casablanca Bouskoura – A 119-key conference-ready hotel.

  • Radisson Hotel & Apartments Rabat Technopolis – A dual-component project with 140 hotel rooms and 56 serviced apartments.

  • Radisson Blu Resort Marrakech Ben Akil – Opening early 2028, featuring 80 bungalow-style accommodations with Atlas Mountain views.

  • Expansion in Nigeria and Zimbabwe

Nigeria remains a resilient market with three key projects:

    • Radisson Hotel Aba – Targeted for 2031, a 120-room property on the Aba River.

    • Radisson Hotel & Conference Center Yenagoa – Scheduled for 2027, with 196 rooms.

    • Radisson Collection Hotel, Lagos Atlantic – Targeted for 2029, a 107-room luxury oceanfront hotel on Victoria Island.

    In Zimbabwe, new entries include:

    • Radisson Serviced Apartments, Harare – Targeted for end-2028, a 147-key extended-stay property in Borrowdale.

    • Park Inn by Radisson Victoria Falls Resort – Expected in 2029, a 150-room resort just 5 km from Victoria Falls.

Conversion Strategy and Development Model

Conversions continue to be a core growth lever, with over 15 hotels (nearly 3,000 rooms) joining the portfolio through conversion in the last five years. This strategy enables faster time-to-market and strong brand alignment while supporting owner partnerships.

Ramsay Rankoussi, Regional Chief Development Officer, emphasized that the pipeline is “built to open, not just to announce,” highlighting the Group’s focus on execution and market relevance.
