Malaysia Airlines has launched a special-edition aircraft livery in partnership with the Mumbai Indians! As we all know, Mumbai Indians is one of the most popular franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The design was unveiled on April 23rd, 2026. It features on an Airbus A330-300 and blends both the airline’s signature blue with the team’s iconic blue and gold colors. A true beauty!

The livery centers around the Mumbai Indians’ Chakra emblem, with dynamic, radiating patterns symbolizing motion, momentum, and the team’s global fanbase. The design is quite intentional with the flowing design elements across the fuselage that represent the spirit of Mumbai and also the passion of cricket fans. Why this collaboration? This aircraft serves as a “flying tribute” to the city’s culture and the sport’s unparalleled unifying power.

This collaboration began earlier in 2026 when Malaysia Airlines became the Official Global Airline Partner and Associate Sponsor of Mumbai Indians. And as part of the deal, while an entire airplane is Mumbai Indians themed, the airline’s logo appears on the right chest of the team’s jersey during the IPL 2026 matches. The partnership was officially launched in January. And happened with a kite-flying ceremony in Mumbai, symbolizing the cultural unity.

To celebrate the aircraft launch, a digital tribute film was also released. It showcased Mumbai’s vibrant culture, fan energy, and also the Malaysian hospitality. This plane will operate on key international routes connecting India, Asia, and beyond.
