Madagascar remains fully accessible to visitors!
The country continues to welcome visitors in the best possible conditions thanks to the full preservation of its main tourist areas, heritage sites, natural parks, and coastal areas.
The recent social unrest is localized in specific localities, mainly in city centers or near university campuses, and does not affect the major tourist routes.
Vigilance is advised in six cities across the country
Only six cities out of 1,579 municipalities are affected by demonstrations: Antsirabe, Fianarantsoa, Toliara, Toamasina, Antananarivo, and Antsiranana.
In these localities, temporary disruptions may occur, and some neighborhoods may occasionally be closed due to public demonstrations.
Visitors are advised to regularly consult reliable sources of information to avoid areas where gatherings are temporarily active.
Air and sea transport are fully operational
Air and sea transport are fully operational. All airlines serving Madagascar continue to operate their international, regional, and domestic connections.
However, occasional schedule adjustments may occur for flights to or from affected cities.
All commercial airports and ports in the country are open and operational.
Tourist sites and attractions are open
Tourist, natural, and cultural sites—whether on land or at sea—remain accessible and open to the public. National parks, nature reserves, islands, beaches, and historical or cultural sites continue to welcome visitors under normal conditions.
Enhanced security and mobilization of the tourism sector
Local law enforcement agencies are mobilized throughout the country to ensure the safety of citizens and travelers.
The tourism sector as a whole is actively involved: tour operators, guides, accommodation providers, travel agencies, and transport companies are working together to guarantee safe, flexible stays that are adapted to the changing situation.

Madagascar National Tourism Board (ONTM) has set up a reinforced assistance system with four numbers accessible 7 days a week, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.:

To our international tourists and partners, we would like to reiterate that despite the protests being limited to certain urban areas, the heart of Madagascar’s tourist offering remains fully open.
With its 580,000 km2 and 5,000 km of coastline, Madagascar—the fourth largest island in the world—retains access to all of its iconic circuits, natural sites, beaches, and reserves.
The Madagascar National Tourism Board remains mobilized alongside industry professionals to maintain the confidence of source markets. Practical tools (assistance numbers, situation reports, emergency contacts) are available to assist travelers.
